I rapporten vurderes muligheter og utfordringer ved bruk av torverstatningsprodukteri de ulike bruksområdene, og behov for videre FoU er angitt.The Norwegian Environment Agency has asked NIBIO to evaluate various materials used in peatreduced or peat-free growing media and in constructed soils (structural materials and nutrient-richmaterials). Peat has unique physical and chemical properties, and currently there are no productsthat can replace peat in all application areas (horticulture, hobby gardening, green roofs andconstructed soils). In the report opportunities and challenges related to the use of peat replacementproducts in the various application areas are evaluated, and the need for further R&D is proposed.
