Ørum translates and analyzes three parallel 19th-century Judaeo-Arabic manuscripts from Egypt. These manuscripts present a story (whose earliest version is attributed to Kaᶜb al-ᵓAḥbār) about Jesus reviving the skull of a deceased king. The skull narrates his encounter with the Angel of Death, a painful purgatory and descension to hell. The manuscripts reveal a wide spectrum of interesting written and spoken Egyptian Judaeo-Arabic variety features in which Ørum pays special attention to signs of linguistic divergence from the standardized written ( fuṣḥā) and spoken ( ᶜāmmiyya) variety. The unique sociolinguistic situation of the Jewish Egyptian community makes this book an important contribution to those working on Judaeo-Arabic in general, but also for students or scholars interested in Egyptian Arabic historical dialectology and sociolinguistics." - bokas bakside *648 7$a1800-tallet$0(NO-TrBIB)HUME10978$2humord *650 0$aArabic language$xDialects$_75487200 *650 0$aJews$xLanguages$zEgypt$_75487300 *650 0$aJudeo-Arabic language$xDialects$zEgypt$vTexts$_75487400 *650 0$aJudeo-Arabic literature$xHistory and criticism$zEgypt$_75487500 *650 7$aJødisk-arabisk språk$0(NO-TrBIB)HUME13171$2humord$_188543400 *7001 $aØrum, Olav G.$d1986-$0(NO-TrBIB)1523345893401$tʼUṣṣit il-gumguma, or 'The story of the skull'$_52807100 *7400 $aQiṣṣat al-jumjumah *830 0$aEtudes sur le judaïsme médiéval$x0169-815X$v70$_75487600 *85642$3Forlagets beskrivelse (kort)$uhttps://contents.bibs.aws.unit.no/?isbn=9789004345621 *85642$3Forlagets beskrivelse (lang)$uhttps://contents.bibs.aws.unit.no/?isbn=9789004345621 *85642$3Innholdsfortegnelse$uhttps://contents.bibs.aws.unit.no/?isbn=9789004345621 *85642$3Miniatyrbilde$uhttps://contents.bibs.aws.unit.no/files/images/small/1/2/9789004345621.jpg$qimage/jpeg *85642$3Omslagsbilde$uhttps://contents.bibs.aws.unit.no/files/images/large/1/2/9789004345621.jpg$qimage/jpeg *913 $aNORLA$bNB *913 $aNorbok$bNB *960 $an$9local *999 $aoai:nb.bibsys.no:999919899601202202$b2021-11-14T20:22:54Z$z999919899601202202 ^
